For those of you new to our organization's mission and vision, I would like to welcome you and share with you a quick overview of our organization.
We are a private, non-profit organization, 501c3, now 4 years strong, with a mission is to improve the oral health of residents living in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.
Our vision is to advocate and account for evidence based oral health practices, increase oral health literacy and to provide support for direct dental services.
Currently the GTBOHC lends practical direction on creating supportive environments, building healthy public policies, strengthening community action, and re-orienting available oral health services.
We advocate for a new model of complementary actions, including the establishment of working partnerships with relevant agencies and sectors to focus on eliminating oral risk factors and their social determinants.
We work to develop practical strategies for prevention and measurement of common dental problems among children by adopting innovative and evidence based practices to improve oral health outcomes. Such as community water fluoridation efforts, fluoride varnish, dental sealant programs, oral health literacy and home health visiting models.
We provide technology to capture data to report and share oral health disease prevalence, preventive services and program evaluation for all partners, community leaders, schools, decision makers, legislatures, and funders.
Together, through our collaborative grass roots efforts, we are making big differences to improve oral health outcomes.
